40% rule of PTU

The most important rule for the PTU students who have subjects as reappear is 40 % rule. This rule is like a magic wand for the students who have completed their course study(in years) but still unable to complete all the subject of the course.
what is this rule actually.
This rule is for the benefit of those students who has only 1 subject left to clear their degree. In this rule those students can fill the application form namely
"EXAMINATION FORM (REAPPEAR IN ONE SUBJECT) TO COMPLETE DEGREE"
this rule enables students to clear their last remaining subject through following satisfying condition:-
1. The subject which has to be cleared must have a minimum of 40 % marks when combining the the subject marks (internal + external) i.e if the internal awarded marks is 17 and the external required to get 40 % marks is 23 out of 100 total marks in theory examination . but in this case as student lack by 1 mark to pass the external subject as 24 is the requisite criteria. in this case the total o both makes 40 % so will be declared pass in the subject
2. The students when combining both internal and external marks in a particular session of exam out of 100 must be a minimum of 36 to apply for the 40% rule as this rule allows a maximum of 4 grace marks which to get to 40 % marks in a subject to get cleared.
3. If total is 37 marks 3 grace will be provided and so on to get 40 marks in total.
4. If the total of two itself makes to above such as 30 internal and 12 external then there will be no grace to be provided but still be able to clear the subject under 40% rule of the PTU to pass the degree
5. The rule is applicable only and only when only 1 subject is remaining and all others have been passed by the student.
6. The student must have completed his full time of regular study and their left with no regular exams to come in front.
7. The fee applicable to get clear the subject through this form is Rs 5000 only.
The University requires minimum of 15 working days to pass notification for the student to be declared clear in the 1 subject and will be then entitled for the award of the degree opted by him in his course. The students can through this clear his degree and apply to further study also. This is one of the most innovative rule opted by any University to help its students to pass the subject. This rule will be helpful for all the reappear students. This rule is applicable to all the courses being run by the University through its campus of any other college affiliated to the Punjab Technical University. The students are advised also to consult their college registrar and staff regarding the timing and schedule for filling up of this form for any session.
further clarification is highly appreciable. further support can be asked through the comments below.

  8. Hi Adhidev,

As per your blog the university requires 15 days only to declare that student's result as 'Passed" in case of payment of Rs.5,000 (having cleared all 19 examinations and required grace in only one subject)

But let me inform you i had paid the required amount and provided marksheets of all other semesters (2nd, 3rd & 4th) which i cleared on 28th September 2013 but still waiting to receive the updated marksheet of 1st Sem.

I am not even thinking of receiving the degree in the near future as i was told that degree will come 1 or 1.5 years after i receive the marksheet

I am constantly in touch (thru visits and calls) with the learning center but nothing seems to be working
